About Prefilled Vapes and Pod Kits

1. What is a prefilled pod kit?

A prefilled pod kit is a rechargeable vaping device that uses replaceable, pre-filled pods containing nicotine salt e-liquid. The device holds a battery and heating element. The pod, which is a small sealed cartridge, snaps in to the device and delivers vapour when you draw on it. When the pod is empty you remove it and fit a new one. You keep the device and only replace the pod. This makes prefilled pod kits the legal, rechargeable alternative to single-use disposable vapes, which were banned in the UK from 1st June 2025.

2. How does a prefilled pod kit work?

Switch the device on, usually by pressing the fire button five times or by simply drawing on it if it is draw-activated. The battery heats the coil inside the pod, which vaporises the nicotine salt liquid. You inhale the vapour through the mouthpiece. Charge the battery via USB-C when battery life drops. Replace the pod when the liquid runs out or when flavour quality noticeably decreases. That is the full cycle. No refilling, no coil changes, no technical knowledge required.

3. Are prefilled pod kits the same as disposable vapes?

No, and the distinction matters legally. A disposable vape was a single-use device, the battery and liquid both ran out and you threw the whole thing away. Single-use disposable vapes have been banned in the UK since 1st June 2025. A prefilled pod kit is a rechargeable device. Only the pod is replaced when it runs out. The device itself is reused indefinitely. Prefilled pod kits were not affected by the disposable vape ban and remain fully legal for adults aged 18 and over.

4. What brands of prefilled pod kits do you stock?

We stock over 70 prefilled pod kit models including Elf Bar, Lost Mary, IVG, Hayati, SKE Crystal, Vaporesso, Bloody Bar, Crystal Bling, Titan, Elux, Feoba, Pyne Pod, and many more. Replacement pods are available for every kit we sell. Our full range is in the prefilled pod kits collection at prefilledvapesoutlet.co.uk/collections/prefilled-pod-kits.

5. What is a replacement pod?

A replacement pod is the pre-filled cartridge that you swap into your device when the current pod runs out. It contains the e-liquid and the coil. Replacement pods are brand and model specific. A Lost Mary Tappo pod will not fit an Elf Bar Elfa Pro. Always buy the replacement pod listed as compatible with your exact device. We stock replacement pods for every kit we sell, all in one place at prefilledvapesoutlet.co.uk/collections/prefilled-replacement-pods.

6. How long does a prefilled pod last?

This depends on the pod capacity, the device output, and how frequently you vape. A standard pod with a 2ml fill in a lower-output device will last a moderate vaper one to two days. Higher-capacity devices rated for 10,000 to 60,000 puffs use a multi-pod system or larger internal reservoir and can last considerably longer. Puff counts on product listings are calculated on an average puff duration of around one second. Real-world results vary depending on how long and how deeply you draw.

7. Can I use any replacement pod in any device?

No. Pods are specific to the device they were designed for. Always check the product listing confirms compatibility with your device model before ordering. Our replacement pods section is organised by brand and device name to make this straightforward. If you are ever unsure, contact us before ordering and we will confirm compatibility.

About Nicotine Salts

1. What are nicotine salts (nic salts)?

Nicotine salts are a form of nicotine used in e-liquid that has been treated with benzoic acid during manufacture. This process makes nicotine smoother to inhale at higher concentrations compared to freebase nicotine. In the UK, nic salts are sold in 10ml bottles at a maximum strength of 20mg per millilitre, which is the legal limit under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016. They are designed for use in low-wattage, mouth-to-lung pod systems and deliver nicotine faster than standard e-liquids, which is why they are popular with adult smokers switching to vaping.

2. What is the difference between 10mg and 20mg nic salts?

Both are legal in the UK. 20mg is the maximum strength permitted. For regular smokers making the switch to vaping, UK public health guidance supports starting at 20mg because it delivers enough nicotine to manage cravings without needing to vape constantly. 10mg suits lighter or social smokers, or vapers who have been vaping for a while and want to step their nicotine intake down gradually. If you smoked a pack a day or more, start at 20mg. If you smoked fewer than ten cigarettes a day, 10mg is a reasonable starting point.

3. Can I use nic salts in any vaping device?

No. Nicotine salt e-liquids are designed for low-wattage, mouth-to-lung pod systems. Using them in a high-wattage sub-ohm device would deliver an excessive amount of nicotine per draw. Only use nic salts in compatible pod kits. Our vape pod kits collection lists devices that are suitable for use with bottled nic salts. Prefilled pod kits use pre-filled pods and do not use bottled nic salts.

4. How long does a 10ml nic salt bottle last?

A moderate vaper using a standard pod kit typically gets three to five days from a 10ml bottle. Heavier vapers may use one every couple of days. Because UK regulations cap nic salt bottles at 10ml, this is the maximum size available from any UK-compliant retailer.

About UK Vaping Law

1. Are prefilled vapes legal in the UK?

Yes. Prefilled pod kits that meet the legal requirements set out in the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 are fully legal in the UK for adults aged 18 and over. The requirements are: a maximum 2ml pod capacity, a maximum nicotine strength of 20mg per millilitre, and MHRA notification of the product before it is placed on the market. Every product on this site meets all three requirements.

2. Are disposable vapes still legal in the UK?

No. The UK government banned the sale of single-use, non-rechargeable disposable vapes from 1st June 2025. This applies to all retailers across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Rechargeable prefilled pod kits with replaceable pods are the legal alternative and remain fully available for adult purchasers. GOV.UK published full guidance on this at: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/single-use-vapes-banned-from-1-june-2025

3. What does MHRA notified mean?

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is the UK government body responsible for regulating nicotine-containing vaping products. Before any such product can be legally sold in the UK, the manufacturer must submit detailed product information to the MHRA, including ingredients, emissions data, and safety information. This process is called MHRA notification. Only notified products can legally go on sale. You can search the MHRA e-cigarette notification database at: https://cms.mhra.gov.uk/index.php/ecig-new

4. What is TPD compliance?

TPD stands for the Tobacco Products Directive, the European Union legislation that set the original framework for vaping product regulation. After the UK left the EU, the equivalent UK legislation became the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 (TRPR). When a product is described as TPD compliant, it meets the technical standards for pod capacity, nicotine strength, ingredient safety, and labelling that were established under this framework and carried into UK law. Full text of the TRPR is available at: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2016/507/contents/made

5. What does the nicotine warning on packaging mean?

UK law requires that all nicotine-containing vaping products carry the statutory health warning: This product contains nicotine which is a highly addictive substance. This warning must cover at least 30 percent of the two largest surfaces of the packaging. Every product we sell carries this warning as required. It is a legal requirement, not optional.
